This peasant woman brings an offering of a large "potiron," or pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima), balanced on her head and carrying a "rosary" (little sausages strung like a rosary) of delectable sausages. 

Courge, of course, means squash - the pumpkin is in the squash family.

Size #3 / Grande (the 3-1/2 inch - 9 cm size)
